Our Story

Taurine Technology is building the management layer for the world's next wave of connectivity — intelligent, cloud-native, and purpose-built for decentralised network operators.

Born from the Day Two Problem

Connectivity is decentralising. Open-access fibre, spectrum sharing, and regulatory reform are creating thousands of new network operators globally — from WISPs to school networks to multi-site ISPs. But the tools built for large, centralised telcos don't work for these operators: too expensive, too complex, too rigid. While researching AI-driven network optimisation at the University of Cape Town, our founder Keegan White kept encountering the same pattern: billions are spent deploying networks, but almost nothing goes toward keeping them running. That gap between deployment and sustainable operations — the Day Two Problem — is what Axon solves.

Open Standards, Not Vendor Lock-In

We believe in open standards and commodity hardware. Axon runs on Open vSwitch, an industry-standard virtual switch, meaning you're never locked into expensive proprietary equipment. Your network, your choice of hardware.

Intelligence at the Edge, Control in the Cloud

Axon's architecture pushes intelligence to edge devices while orchestrating from the cloud. Traffic classification and rate-limiting happen locally — so your network keeps running even if internet connectivity drops. The cloud provides the unified view and control you need.

Proven Under Pressure, Built for Scale

We proved Axon in the hardest environments first — rural Africa and South America, where power is unreliable, connectivity is intermittent, and there are zero on-site engineers. That discipline produced software that is lean, resilient, and effective at any scale. The same qualities are now driving adoption with ISPs and network operators globally.
